The Children's Heart Foundation - Oregon Chapter

The Helmy Law Firm is proud to serve as official counsel to the Children's Heart Foundation - Oregon Chapter (CHF-OR). The mission of The Children's Heart Foundation is to fund the most promising research to diagnose, treat and prevent congenital heart defects. The Helmy Law Firm advises CHF-OR on safety protocols for its charitable events and regularly donates significant monies to the charity at fund-raisers. Moreover, Eric Helmy has raised money for CHF-OR by participating in competitive athletic events, such as the Pacific Crest Half-Ironman Triathlon.

Pro Bono Activities

At the Helmy Law Firm, we are happy to contribute our legal skills for the benefit of worthy causes in the community on a volunteer basis. For instance, we have been pleased to serve on a team of counsel to many noted Pacific Northwest environmental advocacy groups in their efforts to stop an ecologically unsustainable government-sponsored slaughter of hundreds of cougars in Oregon. Also on a pro bono basis, Eric Helmy is currently helping two minor children recover tense of thousands of dollars in life insurance proceeds that a relative apparently took under wrongful circumstances.

Professional Activities

As a committed and passionate advocate for his clients, Eric Helmy is dedicated to the preservation of the legal system that provides recourse for the wrongfully injured. To this end, he is proud to serve on the education committee of the Oregon Trial Lawyers' Association (OTLA), where he works with several distinguished colleagues to ensure that OTLA's members have access to the best educational resources available. These tools are often critical to trial lawyers' efforts to stand tall for their clients in battles against powerful corporate wrongdoers.

Other Contributions to Community

Recognizing that our community draws strength from its diversity, Eric Helmy serves on the diversity committee at the French American International School. The committee works to foster an appreciation of diversity among the school community in order to broaden the children's perspectives, to enrich their curriculum, and to value the contributions of all.
