• Guidant Heart Devices (defibrillators and/or pacemakers)
  • These implantable heart devices may malfunction, either by delivering painful shocks at improper times or by failing to deliver life-saving shocks during a cardiac emergency. Both Guidant and its new parent company, Boston Scientific, have issued recalls of these devices.
• Ketek (antibiotic)
  • Made by Sanofi-Aventis, this antibiotic has been linked to severe liver problems and death.

• Tattoo pigments and dyes
  • Several dyes made by the American Institute of Intradermal Cosmetics, Inc. (doing business as "Premier Pigments") have been linked to severe and permanent skin injuries and disfigurement. • Table saws
  • Unless equipped with technology capable of reliably stopping the saw blade almost immediately upon contact with the skin, table saws made in 2002 or after are almost certainly dangerous and defective. Table saw manufacturers and distributors may be liable for damages under the law when such a saw severely injures a person.
