  • Fentanyl (Duragesic patch) or Defective drug delivery patch cases
    • (Fentanyl is an analgesic / chronic pain reliever, and experts believe that some Fentanyl patches may be releasing more fentanyl than had been intended. Fentanyl overdose can cause coma, asphyxiation (cessation of breathing), or death)
  • Guidant Heart Devices (defibrillators and/or pacemakers)
    • These implantable heart devices may malfunction, either by delivering painful shocks at improper times or by failing to deliver life-saving shocks during a cardiac emergency. Both Guidant and its new parent company, Boston Scientific, have issued recalls of these devices.
  • Ketek (antibiotic)
    • Made by Sanofi-Aventis, this antibiotic has been linked to severe liver problems and death.

OTHER DANGEROUS PRODUCTS

  • Tattoo pigments and dyes
    • Several dyes made by the American Institute of Intradermal Cosmetics, Inc. (doing business as "Premier Pigments") have been linked to severe and permanent skin injuries and disfigurement. Though Premier Pigments is currently in bankruptcy, the distributors of these products may be legally liable to those injured by such pigments.
  • Table saws
    • Unless equipped with technology capable of reliably stopping the saw blade almost immediately upon contact with the skin, table saws made in 2002 or after are almost certainly dangerous and defective. Table saw manufacturers and distributors may be liable for damages under the law when such a saw severely injures a person.
